Unfortunately no. I seem to remember a feature request for Right Click to create a point without altering the envelope. I don't know if that would help on a Mac, do they still only have one button?

If the sample rate and bit depth is kept the same throughout, then simple editing such as cutting and splitting will be lossless. This means that if you are working with 16 bit/44100Hz files your entire project should be done at 16bit 44100Hz - see the default settings in the "Quality" tab...

Using a "Microphone Input" is far from ideal, but OK, let's go with what you've got.
Switch off "software playthrough". If that makes it so that you can not hear the turntables, go into the Windows Mixer or the sound cards control panel and enable playback for the mic in.

The noise level during the "silent" sections is very low (around -80dB). I suspect that the problem is with your media player or its settings. If you import that sample back into Audacity, does the noise go away?mike656 wrote:The noise is heard throughout the entire thing. Check it out

Yes, use the "Pan" slider on the track and move it all the way to the right or to the left.
