Re: Editing Tempo of MP3 Audio Files
The problem may be with the way that changing the tempo is done. Audacity has to cut up the music into tiny little pieces and either space out the pieces to make the tempo slower, or cut bits out to make the tempo quicker. If you are only changing the tempo by 4 or 5%, then you should find that it d...

This is by no means the first report of Audacity 1.3 working better than 1.2 on Vista.

Re: will not run
Does anyone know if audacity is incompatible with any of my hardware or audio software? I don't see any inherent compatibility issues there. Although you may find that the Realtek HD Audio output offers limited recording options, and probably not very good sound quality, it should at least work. Yo...

Re: Guitar amp simulators for Audacity?
There's a few freeware amp simulator VSTs, I just don't know how I'd use any with Audacity. Audacity is not very good with VST's. It only supports some, and some make Audacity crash. Because of licensing restrictions, Audacity can not be distributed with VST support, so VST support is achieved thro...

Re: Noise heard ONLY when saving files?
When i load the file back into audacity i dont hear the noise. As we were saying, there isn't any (well, very very little) Strange. Perhaps i've isolated this to winamp... I think that's your answer. Now why would WinAmp be noisy? Have a look in the WinAmp plug-ins and see which output plug-in it i...

Re: audacity stops recording after about 30 secs
It sounds like you are running out of disk space. Editing an album can use many hundred megabytes of disk space with temporary files.

Re: Audacitry is invisible
Sounds like there is a problem with the Packman build. You should contact them about this issue - there are probably some dependencies missing.

Re: Guitar amp simulators for Audacity?
A much better solution, get an amplifier and a microphone.
Failing that, get a hardware amp simulator with an audio out that you can plug into your sound card (Line6 Pod's are very good).

Re: I had it working for a second, and now it don't
Check in Edit menu > Preferences > Audio I/O and make sure that the USB device is selected for recording. If the USB device is not listed, reboot your computer with the USB device still plugged in, then check the preferences again. If you are using Audacity 1.2.x you may need to restart Audacity for...
