By default the Metatag Editor will pop up each time a file is exported. This gives you the opportunity to edit the tags if you so wish. If you have turned this feature off, you will need to go into preferences (from the edit menu) and switch it back on.

I do not really recommend VST plug-ins as they are only partially supported and can cause major headaches, so go for LADSPA or Nyquist plug-ins.
