Re: add a feature (chord generator)
You want a plug-in that will do the following? Record a note from your guitar. Run the plug-in and if it is an "A" then it will output that it is an "A". If it is another note, then it will output what note it is. a really big YES.. :D That was the point of my previous post. If ...

Re: Improving quality of Poor Tape to CD Conversion
Nice bit of lateral thinkingTiger-Heli wrote:What I might try and what might get close to the real time EQ is to play the files back in WMP or some other player with a flat EQ setting, adjust the curve there, and then transfer those settings to the Audacity project file.

Re: audio slows down when imported or pasted into new track
Which version of Audacity are you using? In Audacity 1.2.x the pasted sample will be played at the sample rate of the track that it is pasted into, so if the sample rate of the audio clip is different to the sample rate of the track, then it will play at the wrong speed. This does not happen in Auda...

Re: Improving quality of Poor Tape to CD Conversion
The exact settings are going to depend on many factors. Cassette tapes tend to become more dull sounding with age (they loose high frequencies and replace it with hiss). Very few cassette players will record frequencies above about 15kHz so you can just roll off above 15kHz to reduce high frequency ...

Re: first track gets recorded onto second track...?
Last thing, (might be related) In the WIndows Mixer are "Selection" buttons for every recording/listening mode (being "CD player", "Line In", " Stereo Mix", "Mono Mix", "Aux", "Phone Line", "Microphone", and "SPDIF...

Re: Audacity temp files
Recovering after a crash isn't a miracle, it's a matter of using the recovery utility to reassemble all the 10 second files. If only it was always that simple, but the assumption here is that all of the data fragments are fully intact, which too often is not the case. Rather than relying entirely o...

Re: add a feature (chord generator)
I'm having trouble understanding your question. You want a plug-in that will do the following? Record a note from your guitar. Run the plug-in and if it is an "A" then it will output that it is an "A". If it is another note, then it will output what note it is. Is that what you a...

Re: Sample rate & file size issues
FLAC would be the best option as it preserves 100% sound quality while reducing the file size to around 50%. If you need even more space savings, you can use MP3 or Ogg formats. With these you can achieve space savings of around 80% but there will be some loss in sound quality (it will still sound b...

Re: Playback on Bose Systems
You need to burn the CDs as standard audio CDs. Some CD players will play data CDs, or MP3 CDs, but many will not. A lot of people that use Windows Media Player for burning CDs have this problem. I would recommend using a dedicated CD burning program such as Nero, Nero Express, Nero Essentials, Easy...

Re: Change Tempo values
If you record exactly one minute of show and it doesn't play back for one minute, or it plays back in a different key, most times that turns out to be problems with a really cheap sound card. Koz Sometimes changing the default sample rate (48kHz > 44.1kHz or 44.1kHz > 48kHz) will improve things (bu...
