Re: can't export multiple wav
I thought that when I burned these tracks onto a cd I would have trave tracks with the labels and not just track 01, etc. The labels are specific to Audacity and do not directly affect how the exported files appear on the CD. When you export multiple, there are various options for how the exported ...

Re: Need quick help with recording Q!
This describes the standard ways of adjusting the recording levels: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Recording_levels Note that quite a few modern computers with on-board sound have Automatic Gain Control and other recording "enhancements". These MUST be switched off. The setti...

Re: Help with LAME MP3 Encoder Install
I think you may have downloaded the wrong file.
The Windows zip file contains a file called "lame_enc.dll" and that is the file that you need.

Re: 1.2.6 Crashing consistently with large number of tracks
One thing I noticed with 1.3 is that the Lame encoder doesn't work and shows that it is incompatible. So, if I have to have mp3, and I do, what's the solution? Audacity 1.3 requires a more recent version of Lame. You can get it from here: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Lame_Installati...

Re: iMic volume/noise issues
How do I boost the volume of my mic without getting a ton of hiss? You need to use a low noise, high gain microphone pre-amp. The specification for the Lightsnake says: * Signal Boost Gain: +20 dB A typical condenser microphone will have a sensitivity of around 12 mV/Pa The sensitivity of the EH-R1...

Re: Disk space remaining for recording
In view of the advice from McAfee Site Advisor I have removed the direct link. For anyone interested, the software being advertised in Michael84's post was "Directory Size" by "moleskinsoft". Note that it is NOT free software - a single user license is $27.90, going up to $299.90...

Re: Playback delay while recording?
If the delay is in the region of 0.5 seconds, then it due to "software playthrough" as described earlier. If the delay is a much smaller fraction of a second, then this is probably due to "latency". Audacity will automatically apply latency correction, but in Audacity 1.2 this is...

Re: Question about Mic Input slider
Would you be able to point me in the direction of those settings? Unfortunately different manufacturers hide the settings in different places - it can even be different from one computer model to another, and sometimes computers of the same make and model will have those settings in different place...
