Audacity's meters show dBFS

Audacity 2.3.3 has built-in support for exporting MP3 so I don't see any obvious reason why that would not be available.
The current version of Audacity is 2.4.2 https://www.audacityteam.org/download/mac/

If you only get a label at the start or end of the recording, then you will be fairly safe to turn off "drop-out detection".

If you get labels between the start and the end, then they indicate that some audio has been lost close to the position of the label.

Can some explain a workaround The simplest workaround would for them to "Export" a normal audio file (such as an MP3 or WAV). An MP3 will be MUCH quicker to upload / download than a project, even at the highest quality settings. ... why this is happening. BTW the data folder is present. P...

Is it specifically related to the Graphic EQ effect, or is that irrelevant to the crash problem?

I have the data folder with all the pieces in it. I don’t know if that’s helpful. Typically there are thousands of pieces of audio data. The AUP file tells Audacity how to put the pieces together. You're asking the wrong people. We don't run that PPA, we just provide the code. We understand that the PPA maintainer has had difficulty updating their automated systems for building Audacity after the change from AutoTools to Cmake.
