If you are using Vista, try the latest Audacity 1.3, but read this first before attempting to install: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php? ... s_Vista_OS

Re: Error after exporting

There have been 2 releases of Audacity 1.3.7 and the later one has several bug fixes. Unless you obtained Audacity 1.3.7 very recently it may be worth downloading it again to ensure that you have the later version.

Re: Software disc won't iinstall, hangs up system

Yes, this is an Audacity product; Not really. The only "Audacity Products" are those found here: http://audacitystore.com/index.php?page=shop.browse&category_id=1&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=1 Audacity is free, open source software and is often included with other products (s...

Re: How do I record my USB Keyboard/Piano?

Your keyboard is probably not outputting audio data through the USB cable, it is probably outputting MIDI data. Audacity can record audio data from USB, but not MIDI data. MIDI data is not "sound", it is just a series of commands to tell a synthesizer to make some sounds http://en.wikipedi...

Re: Turning off "disallowed for some reason" when saving?

I don't get a "disallowed for some reason" message. Could you describe a step-by-step of how you get the message. Also, which version of Audacity are you using (look in "Help > About Audacity")

Re: Software disc won't iinstall, hangs up system

What install disk are you talking about? Does this have anything to do with Audacity ? The latest official release of Audacity can be downloaded by carefully following the appropriate links on this page: http://audacityteam.org/download/ (by the way, it's not a good idea to openly post your e-mail a...

Re: Skipping during playback and record

Just a quick update on my current configuration: Disabled pulseaudio from automatic start up, and set ALSA as the defaults for everything (system sounds still work). Installed Audacity 1.3.8 alpha. Set the recording input to "ALSA: default" and the playback device to "ALSA: dmix"...

Re: Record and Playback Speed

If you upgrade to Audacity 1.3 Audacity will take care of that particular issue for you and will by default export WAV and MP3 files as 16 bit. You may still need to check the sample rate that you are using - the most compatible sample rate is 44100Hz - to ensure that exported files use 44100Hz, set...

Re: configuring audacity-1.3.6

Thanks for the update - I guess I should have posted one myself. I have build Audacity again (several times now) from cvs, and as long as all the dependencies are satisfied, the default configure options provide full functionality. (so just ./configure with no additional options necessary, unless yo...

Re: iMic volume/noise issues

Ouch, a bit pricey for an unforeseen expense, but note the gain level - 20 to 30dB higher than the lightsnake - you should notice a big difference. I look forward to your next update.
