Re: Sample rate & file size issues
Audacity always records uncompressed audio data (at whatever sample rate/bit depth you have selected). When you "Export" from Audacity, this creates an audio file ("Audacity Projects" are NOT audio files) and can be WAV, MP3 (if Lame is installed), Ogg, Flac, Aiff and in recent v...

Re: converting to MP3
It is recommended that you use the "official" Audacity build of Lame (the latest versions of Audacity are known to have various problems with other builds). You can download it by following the links on this page (instructions for correct installation are also provided) http://audacityteam...

Re: Real-time Reverb
Such software does exist, but not for Audacity. As Koz has said, Audacity does not do "Real time" (though it is one of the most highly requested features). For real-time effects you can use VST plug-ins with a suitable VST host program (Windows / Mac) or LADSPA plug-ins on Linux. For just ...

Re: Missing hierarchical plug-in grouping
"Hierarchical plug-in grouping" has been removed from the latest (1.3.7 and later) versions of Audacity. There seems to be some argument about which plug-in goes where, it was not customisable, and it was not possible for users to disable this feature if they did not want it. Personally, I...

Re: cant record any internal sound from computer
USB and Firewire devices do not have the ability to "record sounds playing on your computer". To get round this limitation, use a pair of audio leads to connect a pair of "Line level outputs" of the motu to a pair of "Line level inputs" (a loop-back connector). This sho...
