Re: Turning off "disallowed for some reason" when saving?
I don't think there is any "user interface" option for turning it off, so without hacking the code, no I don't think that you can turn it off. Actually, I didn't realise that before 1.3.5 it didn't produce an error. It seems to me quite reasonable that an error message should be produced, ...

Re: File|Close shuts down software instead of project
If you create some tones in one window, open another window and record something, then close the window that had tones, the .au files relating to those tones will be deleted. After all, you cannot actually undo that closure and you're asked to confirm "Save changes?". Admittedly in Audaci...

Re: Turning off "disallowed for some reason" when saving?
That is (sort of) the explanation. If you try to select "Save" from the menu (when nothing has been changed) you will see that it is greyed out. The error message when you use the keyboard short-cut (though admittedly badly worded) is telling you that the option to save is unavailable (bec...

Re: Detecting mono/stereo in Generator plugin?
The choice of running the plug-in as an effect has the side effect of requiring that some audio be selected when you run the plugin, meaning that before you can generate what you want, you have to generate something you don't want, and then select it. No, you just have to select part of the track -...

Re: Detecting mono/stereo in Generator plugin?
If your plug-in requires a stereo track, then I think you will have to make it as an "Effect" plug-in rather than a "Generate" plug-in. You can then use (arrayp s) There's another plug-in that has to use a similar workaround - the "Apropos" plug-in - it tests to see if ...

Re: HELP! Left/Right Channel Info
Click on the track name, then from the drop down menu select "Split Stereo Track". You can then copy and paste between left and right tracks. When you Export, the left and right tracks will be mixed back together as a stereo track (or select "Make Stereo Track" from the drop down...

Re: Audacity and JACK : I need some terms defined.
or post back what you have, I think the defining issue about what I have, is a 500MHz Pentium III. When I eventually get round to installing Linux on my Pentium IV I'll give it another go. I did manage to get it working (sort of) with Audacity 1.3.5 (or was it 1.3.4?) but no joy at all since then. ...

Re: cant record any internal sound from computer
First make sure that the sound that you want to record is actually playing through the output sockets.
Then check that you are able to record through the input sockets.
Assuming both of these tests are positive, the bar faulty leads there should be no problem.
