Re: cant record any internal sound from computer
First make sure that the sound that you want to record is actually playing through the output sockets. Then check that you are able to record through the input sockets. Did you check these two things? Also, "Total Recorder" (which koz has suggested twice now) is a software solution to the...

Re: Loooong reverb
Considering that Audacity is free software, and both development and support come from unpaid volunteer enthusiast, and there seem to be relatively few people able and willing to regularly contribute, I don't think that 3 days is a particularly long response time - heck it is better than the support...

Re: Crash - No Temporary Files
The question as a designer is: do you spend the extra 2 hours designing a secondary drain so that thousands of people who make the mistakes aren't spending thousands of dollars to repair water damage; or do you sit on your lazy ass and not care enough, rationalizing your laziness with the attitude ...

Re: Reducing Bass
I thought that might happen, but I didn't have time to test it before going away for the weekend. There have been some updates to Nyquist in Audacity 1.3.8, and the version that I posted requires the new version. I've also noticed a small error in the 1.1 version (not related to the error message th...

Re: Reducing Bass
So, there's a plug-in for reducing bass? Here's one I prepared earlier (in case you don't know, that was a catch phrase from the BBC children's program "Blue Peter") Download the attachment and unzip it into your Audacity plug-ins folder. Restart Audacity and the new plug-in should be lis...

Re: Playback
Search for the file audacity.cfg and delete it. This will clear out Audacity's preferences and give it a chance to correctly identify the changes to your system.
The default location is /home/<user>/.audacity/audacity.cfg
(note that ".audacity" is a hidden folder)

Delete the Windows registry entries for Audacity.123becky wrote:How do I get 1.2.6 to work?
But if Audacity 1.3.7 is working, why do you need Audacity 1.2.6?

Re: 1.3.7: file export sometimes fails (creates small file)
Sometime on file export -> mp3 a very small file is created which does not contain the data I'm unable to reproduce that problem. also (on another point) 1.3.7 +the only lame it will work with seems to create larger size files than previously using standard preset The old version would frequently (...

Re: Rode Podcaster
Download the latest version of Audacity 1.3 from the main Audacity website and see if you still have the problem.
Also, see the "Tips and Tutorials" (link at top of page) for general help in getting started.
