You've accidentally enabled "Sync-Lock". Disable it in "Tracks menu" (assuming that you are using a reasonably recent version of Audacity).

The only explanation I can think of is that you have two versions of the same files - a mono version and a 2 channel (stereo) version. I know of no way to import a file as a stereo track unless the file has two audio channels. the options to modify mono to stereo Which option are you referring to?

What is the problem that you are trying to fix? In what way is the sound related to the video?
