That's the one I was thinking of.
There have been a few changes in Audacity concerning latency correction, so you may find some small discrepancies, but the underlying method is the same.

Re: Voice Effect - Hoarseness
That mostly comes from the person - you may need assistance from a 40-a-day smoker, or just practice gargling.TheShekinah wrote:I have the pitch right, but I can't get that sort of hoarse, scratchy quality to it.

Re: Help with hip hop vocals?
1. Am I on the right track here? Yes Should I use a tube preamp? The microphone inputs on Behringer desks are pretty good. To keep within budget I would stick with the desk rather than a separate pre-amp. Valves are becoming quite fashionable again, but when used within their normal signal range pr...

Re: export/import delay
This is due to a limitation of the MP3 format. All mp3 files have a short lead-in before the original audio data. Cool Edit Pro (Syntrillium) got round this by modifying the MP3 format to create their own "CEL" format. For users of other software (including Audacity) you can either export ...

Re: Bitrate Trouble in Audacity
"CBR" does what it says on the tin - the bit rate is constant, so if you set the MP3 Export format to 128kbps CBR, then the music will be encoded at 128bps throughout. Note that for exporting a mono file from Audacity at 128kbps will still use 128kbps, so the sound quality will be equivale...

Re: Soundcard question
[quote="ragrossman"] Will the quality of the copy depend on my computer's soundcard? /quote] Yes it will, and the quality of a typical PC on-board sound-card is rubbish for recording. If you already have a good quality digital recorder, then you are likely to get better quality recordings ...

Re: Another question for N E 1
You want to help with this one? "Windows Vista, PC laptop, Audacity 1.2.6. I've plugged my electric guitar into the microphone socket of my laptop on-board sound-card (RealTek). I've set Audacity to record in stereo but it's only recording on one channel, what should I do?" Answer: Set Aud...
