Re: 1.3.7 missing chunks of audio after recover project
Clipfix is very hungry for RAM (real RAM, not just virtual memory). Try to avoid using ClipFix on long sections (if your recording is so badly clipped that it is needed on long sections, then really you should record it again). Running out of RAM causes nasty crashes, especially with ClipFix as this...

Re: The record is sooo quiet!
I recorded drums from keyboard, using a rule " not exceed 0.5 on waveform". It's OK to go a bit above 0.5, but just be sure to keep it below 1.0 (also some sound cards will distort below 1.0 - they shouldn't, but some do). When i mix it into two channels and mp3 it is very quiet comparing...

Re: Add translation on vocabulary track: record while listen
1. Is this method realist and doable? Yes 2. Which audio editor software can do this: record trackA while listen trackB (or listen trackA)? Audacity 3. Do you know other forum focused on audio editing? http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=audio+editing+forum A. Which audio editor software can do this? ...

Re: audacity version
I wonder if it's possible to write back to the author of the video. There's an e-mail link just above the video. I'm not sure which "error" you are refering to, but it may be worth mentioning here at least that "Normalizing" will not cure distortion that has occured from recordi...

Re: Audacity Files problem.
For a project to open correctly, ALL of the required data files must be perfect. If just one small fragment is damaged or missing, an error will come up. Audacity 1.3 is much better at recovering from errors than the old 1.2 version, but you should still treat Audacity projects with great care, espe...

Re: Recording Noise
If the pop happens only when you start and stop, it is probably due to a limitation of your sound card. (if you record "silence" you should get a "waveform" that is a horizontal line at exactly 0.0 on the vertical scale - left click on the scale to zoom in vertically, right click...

Re: exporting *split* (deinterleaved, L&R) wav files
I have been successful in deinterleaving the file within Audacity itself, by clicking on the the pulldown to the right of the track name, upper left corner of screen (below playback controls), and choosing "split stereo track". After I do that, there are clearly now 2 separate tracks, L&a...

Re: Audacity with Windows Vista
Audacity version 1.3.7 is generally thought to work better on Vista than the old 1.2 version. However, there are some special issues for running Audacity on Vista, so read this section of the Audacity wiki before you attempt to install 1.3. http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Windows_Vista_...

Re: Announcer Voice
There are many effects that you can apply, but something to consider is that actors and voice-over artists get paid a lot of money for the distinctive characteristics of their voice. No matter how much you try (or how much you spend on equipment) you will never make my voice sound like Frank Sinatra.
