Re: No me graba en estereo. Do not stereo recording
when I try to record in Stereo mode. What are you recording from? If you are recording from an external source (for example from a CD player), if you are recording through a microphone input (most laptop PCs have only one audio input, and usually it is just a microphone input), then you will get a ...

Re: Help/Ideas for Live Recording off Mackie board
I probably would not do very much. The overall level seems rather low, but regarding the Eq I don't think that you can enhance it much as adjusting the Eq to benefit one instrument is going to be detrimental to another. If you are able to record an additional couple of channels with microphones then...

Re: Help/Ideas for Live Recording off Mackie board
You can hear a sample of my first run at it here: The link is dead. I recorded this straight from our Mackie 1402-VLZ 3 14x2x1 Audio Mixer, the mixer has no controls for the tape out so I had to mess around with the input signal gain quite a bit to get it low enough to not completely distort, It so...

Re: recording too loud
i record music from a set of decks and mixer line out red/ white phono leads into mic in on my pc. The problem is right there - the outputy from your mixer is at line level whereas microphone inputs are designed for microphones which have a signal strength around 1000x smaller than line level - the...

Re: how to recreate stereo image
The rest of the performance is a big deal. Are the vocals the only thing in the show? Were they mixed badly -- the rest of the orchestra is OK and the vocals are panned hard left? Koz Exactly the question I would ask. The vocals can be placed centre very easily - by converting the show to mono (eve...

Re: i just bought a USB mic and it isnt working with audacit
Edit menu > Preferences > Audio I/O Check that the USB device is selected for recording, and your sound card is selected for playback. It may be necessary in Audacity 1.2 to restart Audacity for the changes to take effect. The USB microphone must be connected and recognised by Windows before you sta...

Re: Dog repeller sound
So as not to also work as a child repeller (children will usually have hearing that is far more sensitive to high frequencies than adults) the frequency will need to be around 20kHz, but normal loudspeakers are not designed to work at such high frequencies. It may be more effective to purchase a har...

Re: Slow performance issue unlike others listed.
The thing that makes the biggest difference (by a very long way) on my computer (Pentium III 500MHz / Ubuntu 8.10) is the device settings. You should definitely use ALSA rather than OSS (JACK is best if you can get it to work). Assuming that you are using ALSA, if your sound card does not have hardw...
