Re: Markers from Microtrack in BWF format ?
The wish list is here: http://audacityteam.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=20 If you post there, after it has been up for a month (to allow time for others to comment/discuss/add support, one of the trusty forum moderators will transfer it to the Audacity wiki. I remember one other request for proper supp...

Re: Problems generating tones in 1.3.7
Whenever I generate a tone in v1.3.7, Audacity always zooms out to fit the entire project. This was discussed on the developers mailing list recently http://n2.nabble.com/Re%3A-possible-bug-in-version-1.3.7-td2276419.html#none I think the upshot is that it is not really a "bug", but at th...

Re: A nice and simple guide for beginners
Perhaps I could suggest that you set up Linux on a computer. Building from cvs is relatively straightforward on Linux as it has all the necessary tools for the job. I'm not a programmer, but even I have managed to learn enough about Linux and compiling source code to accomplish the task (not sure if...

Re: Markers from Microtrack in BWF format ?
Standard WAV files (Microsoft PCM WAV) do not support markers (or meta-tag data). I can see no reference in Audacity or the Audacity documentation of it supporting BWF. The label track in Audacity is designed for use within Audacity projects. Although labels may be exported as text, they are not exp...

Re: Aural Exciter
OK, so here's my attempt at making an Aural Exciter type effect. This is not attempting to emulate the Aphex Systems effect. It is just a simple effect that adds musically related high frequency harmonics to the processed audio. There is no "reverse dynamic tracking" or "Big Bottom&qu...

Re: i just bought a USB mic and it isnt working with audacit
<<<Hearing my voice delayed to the headphones makes it impossible to use the headphones.>>> Sometimes a really slow or old computer wil do that. Some sound cards give you the ability to do hardware feedback. Unfortunately this is an inherent problem with USB microphones. Because you are using one a...

Re: Aural Exciter
Since this is about a specific effect, I have split it from the more general discussion that it was originally posted in. For anyone interested, the Aural Exciter was originally developed by Aphex systems. More information about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aphex_Systems From hat article: T...

Re: Recording Noise
Edit > Utility > DC Bias Removal Is that an option on Macs? I don't see it on Linux or Windows. DC Bias (DC off-set) can be removed using the "Normalize" effect (just deselect the "Normalize maximum amplitude" option if you do not wish to change the levels of the audio channels).
Re: Sound
The quality produced when using centre pan removal (vocal removal) is entirely down to the audio that you are starting with. MP3s rarely produce good results because of the way that the MP3 encoding mangles the stereo. To check that you have the method right (which I think you have) try using the te...

Re: Input selector
My input selector bar is always blank That's not uncommon - it all depends on whether the sound card drivers are available to Audacity or not. If they are not, then just use the Windows Mixer (some sound cards use a custom interface instead of the Windows Mixer, but in eother case you can usually a...
