Re: Distortion Analyzer
Just noticed a "feature" in the Audacity / Nyquist interface. The slider control of Nyquist plug-ins is not accurate. Adjusting the slider to 1000Hz (in this case 1000Hz should be the default) does NOT pass the value of 1000.000 to Nyquist. It passes the value of 1000.414 Hz !!! The only w...

Re: i just bought a USB mic and it isnt working with audacit
Would I be better to use a USB to mini-plug adaptor to plug into the mike input? Is there such an adaptor? I've never heard of such an adaptor, and it would defeat the main point of having a USB microphone. The primary advantage of USB microphones is that they are completely independent of the soun...

Re: Cue Points
The standard WAV format does not support cue points, so any programs that put cue points into WAV files are being rather naughty. It is a known issue that adding non-standard data into WAV files causes incompatibility issues with some applications that are expecting standard WAV format files. There ...

Sound Card Reviews
This topic concerns mono/stereo sound cards and recording devices. Multi-channel recording devices are listed here: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=38626 How well does your sound card work with Audacity? Audacity will work with the vast majority of sound cards, however some so...

Re: Missing Words in recording
AVG is usually quite well behaved, so long as it is not trying to update or do a scheduled system scan. You should try to keep as few programs running as possible while you are recording. Any program that uses the hard drive intensively is likely to be trouble. At the time that you are wanting to re...

Look toward the bottom of the main Audacity window and uncheck (de-select) the "Snap To" option.

Re: Records come back very quiet
For Vista, most users recommend using Audacity 1.3.7 and not the old 1.2.6 For information about running Audacity on Vista, see here: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Windows_Vista_OS If you have a RealTek sound card, look for a (possibly brown) loudspeaker icon near the bottom right cor...

Re: recording itunes radio remove high pitch tone
i just deleted 1.2 installed 1.3.7 Have you got Audacity 1.3.7 working now? If so, to use the Noise Removal effect, you first need to tell it what kind of noise to remove - Fortunately this is easy to do because the Noise Removal effect just needs to "hear" the noise (on its own) and then...

Re: how can i start my project with metronome?
"Tempo" is the speed of the beat. You need to know how fast or slow the count in needs to be. When you listen to the song, is it going "1.... 2.... 3.... 4....." (slow) or is it going "12341234" (fast). Think of a big old clock ticking once each second - that's one beat...
