Re: recording itunes radio remove high pitch tone

Was that a one off error, or is it repeatable. If it is repeatable please give the steps to reproduce the effect.

Re: Aural Exciter

how useful is an aural exciter in the studio. This was the effect that brought the name Aphex Systems to prominence. Their Aural Exciter was something of a cult thing back in the 1970's. I've never used one, and in fact never even seen a real one. I guess they are useful if you want that particular...

Re: Record 5.1 from DVD?

The disc I'm trying to rip from is a recording of a play by my sister's school's drama department And your sisters school's drama department has recorded the video with 5.1 surround sound? Wow, they must have some fancy equipment! Perhaps you should just get in touch with their technician, they may...

Re: WAV files exported from Audacity are not bit-identical

The gloomier case is exactly the one sample you talk about... foobar2000 bit comparator will list all samples which have been shifted forward or backward, compared to the original. Are you sure about that? In my tests I find 2 scenarios: 1) If dither is enabled AND I'm importing 16 bit audio: The I...

Re: how can i start my project with metronome?

You should have the clicks on one track, and the music on another track. You can then select and delete any portion of the click track that you do not want. The "Number of measures" setting in the Click Track dialogue sets how long a click track will be generated. Setting this to "4&q...

Re: mixing 2 tracks and using the timeline?

Use the "Time Shift Tool" Image to drag the track left/right

When you have finished your project, use "Export" from the File menu to create a normal audio file (WAV / MP3 or other format).

Re: Record 5.1 from DVD?

My guess is my sound card doesn't allow surround recording. Your guess is right. The options are to use a standalone DVD player and buy a multi-channel sound card (expensive and can be tricky to get working with Audacity), or ripping as suggested by Koz. Ripping is the better solution. The legality...

Re: Copy & Paste Makes a "Pop"? Help, Please!

If you make sure that the start and end points of your edits are as close to the central horizontal line as possible, (0.0 on the vertical scale), then you should not get noticeable clicks. Sometimes the only way to achieve this is to apply a short fade to the ends of the audio clip.

Re: suse 10.3 install issues

It looks like Suse have missed out something in the package.
I'm not sure how package management works in Suse, but perhaps you could look to see if you can install "libmspack" separately, then try installing Audacity again.
