Re: Problems with trim
I want to trim this area in an exact position so when the ring tone loops it sounds good. Get it as close as possible by eye, then: 1) Space > to play it. 2) "Shift + right/left cursor keys" to expand the selected region, and "Ctrl + Shift + right/left cursor keys" to contract t...

Re: A nice and simple guide for beginners
SURELY SOMEONE CAN TELL ME HOW TO COMPILE AUDACITY FROM SCRATCH ON WINDOWS! Well yes they can, but you've already found the instructions: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Developing_On_Windows (last updated 29th March) Your best bet is probably to sign up on the developers mail list and...

Re: recording itunes radio remove high pitch tone
I think that you are running up against a 32bit addressing issue. Audacity 1.3 can handle files of any size, but Audacity uses shared libraries in the operating system that may not be able to do so. Depending on the sample rate / bit depth / number of tracks, I would guess that your recording is aro...

Re: missing selection bar

Re: Copy & Paste Makes a "Pop"? Help, Please!
It doesn't seem that the program should actually have such an artifact - I mean, I get that it's free and all, but shouldn't an audio editing program be able to cut and paste without a resulting "pop" or other artifact? And doesn't everyone have this problem Audacity can perform cut and p...

Re: A nice and simple guide for beginners
can I compile as a Windows EXE on Linux? You can do better than that, you can compile as a Linux executable :D Seriously though, to compile a Windows executable on Linux, I think you would need to do it in WINE, but I suspect that would be far from straightforward as you would be bringing all of th...

Probably worth testing it again when Audacity 1.4 comes out (due in September).

Re: A nice and simple guide for beginners
I'm worried installing VM and Linux will just make things even more complicated You wouldn't need to install VM. Just install Linux as a dual boot option (or install on another machine). You can try out Linux without installing by booting from a "Live CD" (a good way to test it out, thoug...

Since you are on Windows, try CDBurnerXP http://cdburnerxp.se/
It's free, and I've been very impressed with it.
