What format are you exporting as?123becky wrote:I'm using 1.3.7 on Vista Home Premium. When I try to 'export multiple' Audacity always crashes and closes. This did not happen with previous versions. I've tried re-saving the file into another directory but that doesn't help. Any ideas?

Re: Realtek HD and recording through Line-In - How?
Look near the date/time in the bottom right of your screen for a loudspeaker icon - there may be two. This/these are where you find the settings for your sound card. If there are two loudspeaker icons (possibly) a gold one and a brown one, the the gold coloured one will open the Windows Mixer and th...

Re: When [Snap-To On] is activated I cannot move the cursor
The problem is because the distance that the cursor is wanting to move is less than the snap position, so "snap" is immediately pulling it back to the same place. When using the cursor keys to move the play position or selection left/right, the cursor moves in small steps to the left or ri...

Re: Professional Voice Recording / Voice Makeover at home
Lets save everyone's time and bandwidth, you cannot demonstrate "pro voice recording" with a 128kbps mp3 - the quality of the format is too low. Also, I strongly suspect that you do not own the copyright on that recording so to save us all some trouble let's loose the link.

Re: batch conversion
Apparently Audacity can't do this. Does it even support 8-bit files? In Audacity 1.3.7 select "Export > Other Uncompressed Formats" and in the "Options" select 8bit WAV. Audacity can import 8bit WAV files, but upsamples them to the project default on import (16, 24 or 32bit). Pr...

Re: No sound from MP3s
(no thanks to a bunch of arcane, illogical user interfaces) Yes, a lot of folk have that problem thanks to Microsoft's arcane, illogical and ineffective security policy in Internet Explorer. For other web browsers it's just a matter of Left Click on the download link and it downloads the Lame insta...

Re: ubuntustudio microphone monitoring not responding
Set Audacity to use "ALSA default", then use your mixer application to select the recording source.
I think you may be using Audacity 1.3 and not 1.2
There are some bugs in the standard Ubuntu 8.04 build. If possible, update to a later version.

Re: MP3 export - audacity adds silence
When I export something in Audacity as a .mp3, it adds approximately 0.25 seconds of silence in front. How do I get Audacity to NOT do that You can't. It's one of the limitations of the MP3 format. ALL MP3s do it. Could you use Ogg format? The sound quality and compression are about the same as MP3...

Re: batch conversion
I'm now using 1.3.7. I have a similar task, I'd need to resample hundreds of files from 44,100HZ to 11,025Hz. How can I achieve this batch job in Audacity? I still haven't figured it out. Audacity is not really the right tool for the job. There are loads of batch format conversion programs that wil...
