You are using the wrong version of Lame. See here: http://audacityteam.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=9175

Re: Playback is SLOW
Try setting the sample rate to 48kHz - it could be that your sound card does not like 44.1kHz
If that does not work, please give more information. Tell us about your system, tell us how much slower it is playing.

Re: Lost all sound in XP
Go into the control panel and find the "Sounds and Audio Devices" settings. Check what is set for the recording and playback devices. While you are there, try previewing a sound from the Windows sounds (alerts) options to check that it is working. If no sound from Windows system sounds, op...

Re: Clipping problem

Re: The Vocal Remover.
I've been wondering alot about why the Audacity-team wont let us use this effect the other way around as in keeping the center-channel but removing the lefts and rights. It's not the Audacity team that stop you from doing it, it's the laws of physics. Take a simplified version of how it works: Lets...

Re: When I record multiple files there's an automatic bass b
(Topic moved to "Audacity 1.3.x") I used to use the old version on a different computer and that never happened. That was probably due to other factors and not the version of Audacity. When you mix multiple tracks together, those tracks are in effect added to each other, which makes the re...

Re: Sound missing or dropping out
To sidetrack just a little. It is funny. I have been using computers since they didn't come with hard-disks, and I have seen them grew and grew in capacity and speed, and you are supposed to be able to do multitasking and having several programs running and several files open at the same time etc. ...

That's true, but there is a little workaround trick.kozikowski wrote:You can't remove DC in post -- after editing
Apply a high-pass filter (at 20Hz will do the job without messing up the sound), and then repair the transitions where the edit points were (with the "Repair" effect).

Re: Sound missing or dropping out
The harddisks (3 at the moment) are defragmentated automatically every week, and in between, if my tune-up program thinks it necessary. Just make sure that your tune up program does not think that defragmenting is necessary while you are recording. A well behaved tune up program should not do that,...
