Re: Audacity crashes when vst enabler is present OS X
Audacity achieves (partial) VST support using the "VST Bridge" plug-in (a separate open source project). The VST bridge is not compatible with all VST plug-ins, and will cause a crash in the presence of some. My personal opinion, is to not use VST on Audacity, and stick with the hundreds o...

Re: Can't download (mac os 10.5.6)
I tried the direct link and several mirrors without luck. What am I missing? Perhaps nothing - it may have been a temporary glitch on the Sourcforge website. Have you tried again? Can you try with a different web browser (your web browser may be blocking the download). Also, probably worth try Auda...

Re: Crashes after recording
Try using Audacity 1.3.7
If you still have the problem, start a new post on the "Audacity 1.3.x > Windows" board and give more information - LOTS more information. (paint us a mental picture of your set-up)

Re: soft synth issues with multi track
but in order to record the piano Audacity has to be in 'sterio mix' mode which means that when i hit record, Audacity re-records the existing tracks as well as the piano. Yes that's correct. Stereo Mix will record ALL audio that is being sent to the sound card. Any ideas on how to avoid this and ju...

Re: opening of saved project fails!
Unless we can see line 171 of the Audacity ".aup" file we cannot help.
Do you have a text editor that displays line numbers?
If not, try Notepad++ (it's free) http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/site.htm

Re: Recording driver for vista
For Vista, the recording inputs must be enabled in the control panel before you can use them See here http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Windows_Vista_OS#Mixer_Toolbar_has_no_recording_sources If the inputs that you require are not available even after you "Show Disabled Devices"...

Re: System Crash
I've deleted the other post. This just started about a month ago, And Audacity was working fine until then? In which case it may be that there is something else wrong with your computer, and the problem with Audacity is just a symptom. When was the last time you did a full system maintenance? (clear...

Which version of Audacity are you using?
What's your operating system?
(there are different parts in the forum for these, which help to cut out having to ask.)
