Re: Editing two files from different sources - speed distort
If you use Audacity 1.3.7, you do not need to have multiple windows open. Just import all the bits into one window and move them around as required. Audacity 1.3.7 supports multiple sample rates at the same time. You can change the project sample rate atany time by entering the desired sample rate i...

Re: Project files not visible in Vista Windows Explorer
I save to the default projects folder - it's in the Audactiy folder in programme files on my hard disk. Ah that may be the problem. That is not really the "default projects folder" (it's not really where you should be saving projects), it just happens to be the current "save" fo...

Re: voice recording over mp3
but my voice records fine when NOT over the track on a clean audacity file. That makes a big difference to the scenario (puts crystal ball away - right answer, wrong Audacity user ;) ). If you mute the mp3 track, does the voice then sound OK? Be generous with your typing. Too much information is be...

Re: Auto-Tune in Audacity
I presume that you mean " Antares Auto-tune ". It is not an Audacity plug-in. If you mean some other "Auto-tune" that is not made by Antares, please specify. While it may be possible to persuade Antares Autotune to basically function in Audacity, using the VST bridge (Audacity do...

Re: No Audio I/O Tab
Could you tell us which version of Audacity you are using, and what your operating system is. We can then move this post to the appropriate part of the forum, and hopefully answer your questions. It does not seem right that you have no "Audio I/O" tab - possibly an obsolete version of Auda...

Re: Recording driver for vista
I was considering downgrading my OS to XP Pro (which I always liked more)... And it's why I upgraded to Linux (Ubuntu 8.10). Setting up the sound card in Linux can be difficult and frustrating (due to the lack of manufacturers drivers), but at least it can be done, and once it is set up correctly i...

Re: Editing two files from different sources - speed distort
You are using Audacity 1.2.6? Don't paste into the same track. As you have worked out, they are at different sample rates, and if you have them in the same track any that do not match the sample rate of the track will play at the wrong speed. Use "Import" to get the audio files into Audaci...

Re: voice recording over mp3
Time to give the ol' crystal ball a quick pollish... You are recording onto a laptop computer that has an on-board sound card... possibly a RealTek HD, possibly another brand. There is a loudspeaker icon, possibly brown, near to the system clock that opens the sound card control panel. Hidden in the...
