Re: voice recording over mp3

i've uploaded an example of the noise i get to sendspace: Oh, that's not actually a sound file, it's the "Audacity Project File". When you save an Audacity Project, there are two parts to the project; there is the ".aup" file and a folder containing lots of little data files. Th...

Re: blowing in the mic

The best thing is to try and avoid these pops in the first place. A pop filter is one of the best ways: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pop_filter It is easy to make a pop filter for virtually no cost - here's a posh one: http://www.jakeludington.com/project_studio/20050321_build_your_own_microphone_po...

Try dropping the bit depth from 32 bit down to 16 bit. Also see if you can set MacAfee to ignore ".au" files (if MacAffe is checking audacities data files as they are being written it will seriously interfere with recording). Can you upload a SHORT example of the distorted vocal track to h...

Re: Can't download (mac os 10.5.6)

was put off by the warning that new users should get the old one. That's something of a hang-over from when Audacity 1.3 was first started and was subject to many pioneering, but not necessarily stable innovations. The 1.3 version has been pretty stable, though with a few hiccups since about versio...

Most likely they are there, but Windows is hiding them from you. Microsoft do not like you to poke around in you computer other than in your user area.

Re: Audio Interface is recognized, but no sound?

Cakewalk may be using ASIO drivers to communicate with the Korg. Audacity does not use ASIO drivers (licensing restrictions do not allow Audacity to be distributed with ASIO support), and so has to use Windows drivers. The problem could be in getting the Windows drivers properly configured. You know...

Re: I can't play back what I have recorded

Can you install a more up to date version of Audacity? The current version is 1.3.7 Do you know how to build from the source code? If so, the current development version is 1.3.8 alpha, and has some additional bug fixes since the 1.3.7 release. [Edit] Can Fedora packages be installed on Redhat? Just...
