Re: nextel ringtones
Before selecting the Export command, set the project sample rate to 8000 (box in lower left of the main Audacity window). 1) File menu > Export (or Export Selection) 2) If the Metadata Editor pops up, click "OK" 3) Browse to the required export directory (should be somewhere in your Home d...

Re: lame encoader
For Audacity 1.3 in Windows, see the topic at the top of this page: http://audacityteam.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=16
The lame encoder allows Audacity to export audio in MP3 format. Once you have installed Lame, you can select MP3 as the export format.

Only if the piano and the vocal are recorded on different tracks, otherwise no.skinnyboy wrote:Is there a way to raise that section without:

Re: "warbling" sound after noise reduction
You should upgrade to Audacity 1.3.7 - the noise reduction effect is much improved and works as an effective hiss remover.
The "quiet area" that you highlight should only contain noise and no music at all.miltk wrote:1...hilite a "quiet" area

Re: downloading and Language
You need to delete the Audacity preferences which should be located:
~/Library/Preferences/audacity Preferences
If you delete the entire "/audacity Preferences" then Audacity will be reset to day 1 and when you next start Audacity you will be asked (in English) to select the language.

Re: Nyquist in Audacity - order of applying functions
This question arose from looking at a solution to the problem raised in this topic: http://audacityteam.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=9785 seanybob was wanting to modulate a high frequency tone with a given "square wave" that wasn't very square. In the code that I proposed in this pos...

Re: Is there a USB audio interface with 8 ins and outs?
FireWire connections not only trade data back and forth, but housekeeping as well. That's why it's highly recommended for video capture and production of all types. FireWire connections will not stop to purr and lick themselves in the middle of a capture or playback. :D Or to put it another way, US...

Re: stereo recording is mono
If Audacity is receiving stereo data and it is recording on 2 channels, then it will (must) record in stereo. There is something that you are not telling us.

Re: clicks n pops
The "stable" version is rather old now and is due to be replaced soon with Audacity 1.4 (based on Audacity 1.3). Try recording at a different sample rate. For recording an internet broadcast there is no point recording any higher than 44.1/48kHz 16 bit. Try minimising the browser during re...

Re: Is there a USB audio interface with 8 ins and outs?
There are 4 and 8 input USB devices available (try Google) but Firewire is far more popular as dropouts can be a major headache with USB audio devices, and the more inputs/outputs the worse it gets.
