Re: Can't Get Audacity to record in Stereo (Vista)
I also moved the turntable back to the XP setup and it works. Install Audacity 1.3.7 on your XP machine (you can have both Audacity 1.2.6 and 1.3 installed on the same machine). This may help determine whether it is a 1.3.7 issue or a Vista issue and help us to look in the right place for a solutio...

Re: Silence on the end of WAV
I'm not sure of exactly what the issue is that you are experiencing, but I know that Audacity 1.2.6 can be a bit "iffy" (has some limitations) when dealing with tracks with different sample rates. Audacity 1.3 has had some major improvements in this area so it is probably worth you upgradi...

Re: Help with LAME MP3 Encoder Install
Well done, Ericman13, saved me so much grief. However this lame_enc.dll works for 1.2.x but I got an incompatibility message when trying to import using 1.3.x. Audacity 1.3.7 uses some very up to the minute components that require compatible up to date components in the Lame encoder. Most available...

Re: Audacity questions
Could you record a short sample into Audacity (just a few seconds) - Export it from Audacity as a WAV file and as an MP3 file. Upload the MP3 to YouTube to see if it shows the same problem, and if it does, upload the WAV file to a file sharing site such as http://www.yousendit.com/ (you don't need t...

Re: Problem exporting 24 bit pcm wav
thanks Steve. I'll try the 32 bit export, but 24 bit wav did not work in Protools or Soundforge, both played at half speed, even on different computers... Joe That's curious - I've exported from Audacity in 24 bit format and it's worked perfectly in ProTools, but if I recall correctly I think I exp...

Re: Sound Card Reviews
Good one Koz - I regularly use the Zoom H2, which as well as being an excellent standalone pocket recorder can also be used (with Audacity) as a USB microphone (also works in stereo!)
I'll write a review as soon as I have a few minutes to spare.

Re: what does this mean......
it happened again......what can i do? Opportunity to be part of the bug busting team :) Audacity 1.3.x is the beta version (in preparation for the release of 1.4 stable) - All users of 1.3 have the opportunity to help as beta testers. See if you are able to find a step-by-step method that will allo...

Re: Bug or my mistake?
If you find the same issue on 1.3.7, see if you can produce a step-by-step method to reproduce the fault, then we will be able to investigate further (and escalate the issue to the developers if necessary).smrki wrote:But I will try to do the same with 1.3.7 and will report back.

Please don't double post. Audacity is a free, community maintained project. Unless you become skilled in using Audacity and sit for 24 hours a day answering all of the forum questions you can expect that there may be a little bit of waiting before someone sends a reply.
