Re: Recording too fast

No worries about being long-winded. Detail is good, it helps to create a clear picture.
This all sounds interesting, and I think that I get the gist of it, but I don't quite see where the "60:00 vs 60:20" comes in. Is part of the show pre-recorded and part live?

Re: Audacity - Export audio from Video

AVI files are video files. Audacity is an audio editor - it does not support video. Converting AVI files with any software can be tricky because there are so many different types of AVI file. You may be able to convert it with VLC. If you manage to extract the audio from the avi file as a WAV file, ...

Re: can't access audacity files error3 message

Re: Recording too fast

how do I change the internal clock(s) in my sound card (if I even can)? You can't - it's built into the hardware. I'm using an "SB Live! 24 bit" sound card which I thought was very good quality. Yes they're not bad - one of the better "consumer grade" cards (I've got one myself)...

Re: blue flatline

Wireless microphones are not always the most reliable things, so I would try and eliminate that from the question if possible. Could you try recording from something else and see if Audacity behaves correctly.

Re: Recording too fast

I suspect that the problem is with your sound card. Sound cards use an internal "clock" to regulate the sample rate - problem is that most non-professional sound cards use one clock for recording and another for playback. If the clocks do not match exactly (which they never do) then the pl...

Re: Sudden Speed Change on Vocal Recording

How much faster?
Is the pitch noticeably higher as well?
Which version of Audacity?

My first guess is that you've changed the sample rate from 44100 to 48000.

Re: Creating individual audio tracks

Standard audio CDs do not contain text data - for commercial CDs, WMP gets the track listing off the internet from the CDs id. For home grown CDs you need to make the track list manually. For data CDs that can be played on a computer but not on CD players, you can Export as MP3 (or another compresse...
