Re: Isolate sound mostly heard in one channel
The first idea kind of works but isn't really what I am looking for. I thought that may be the case. You are looking for the effect that extracts a whole banana from a banana milkshake. The best that can be done to date is using the (non-free) VST plug-ins "ExtraBoy" or "VoiceTrap&qu...

Re: Can't find MP3 Library
Try using the lame.dll from here: http://www.rarewares.org/files/mp3/lame ... 3.98.2.zip
I am NOT recommending this for Audacity 1.3.7 but it works for Audacity 1.2.6

It might have, but without some text to go with the pictures I can't really see what you mean.

Re: Isolate sound mostly heard in one channel
You can't exactly "isolate" it unless the rest of the recording is identical on both left and right channels, which it almost certainly will not be. What you can do however is to use the channel with the louder slide guitar for both left and right. Using Audacity 1.3.7 Split the stereo tra...

Re: Pro Tools vs. Audacity
DAW = Digital Audio Workstation.
It's like a fancy digital tape recorder with plug-ins and no tape (records to hard disk).

Re: New Installation
USB devices must be connected and recognised by Windows BEFORE you open Audacity.

Re: Mixer Toolbar input selector
As it says in many of the other posts on this subject, the likely cause is that your sound card driver does not want to play nicely with Audacity.
Audacity 1.3.7 may fix the problem. If not then you will need to use the Windows Mixer or your sound card control panel for selecting the recording input.

Re: "Voice Logo" question
I think that you have downloaded the wrong program.
Audacity is completely free, but the download site that hosts Audacity is supported by advertising. I think you have downloaded an advertised commercial product by mistake.

Re: Fresh Recording Playback problem
It may be that your computer can not dump the data fast enough onto your hard drive and is dropping half of the data. What sample rate and bit depth are you using?
How much free space on your C: drive?
Have you defragmented the C: drive lately?

Re: Bug or my mistake?
You have some very bad waveforms there. Huge DC off-set in some, clipping and subsonic modulation in others.
Could you edit your posts and add a bit of text explaining what the waveforms are, where they have come from, and what you are trying to do with them.
