The problem here is that you have quite a few links in the chain between microphone and hard disk, and a broken link anywhere in that chain could cause the problem. It could easily be something as simple as a wire that has come unplug...

Re: can't seem to find click

Switching to the "spectrum view" (click on the track name for a drop down menu) can help show clicks - they will tend to produce red vertical lines.

Re: audacity does not recognize my usb input

The UCG 102 must be connected to the computer BEFORE you open Audacity (allow Windows a few moments to recognise the device - Windows will probably tell you when the new hardware is ready also, the name in Audacity may be slightly different from ucg 102).

Re: Audacity 1.3.7 + Vista x64 + Realtek HD Digital problem

Re: removing old audicity files

i saved songs to my do with audacity What? Once you have EXPORTED your song as a WAV file, you can delete the audacity project file (filename.aup) and its corresponding data folder (filename_data). Temporary files are automatically deleted by Audacity when you close the program. If you are exportin...

Re: "Voice Logo" question

I've no idea what "Voice Logo" is - It's nothing to do with Audacity and my guess is that it is asking you to buy something. I'd uninstall and steer clear of it. Read all of the notes on the page that waxcylinder posted the ling for and get the genuine Audacity. When installed you can look...

Equalizer Curves

In the Equalizer effect there is a selection of presets - mostly concerned with recording old vinyl.

Given the choice, what curves would you like to see in the default presets?

Enabling Effects Categories in Audacity 1.3.8 alpha

In case anyone else compiling the latest alpha version wants this feature (it's just taken me an hour to find this, so maybe this will save someone some time)

In Experimental.h, uncomment:

//#define EFFECT_CATEGORIES

giving you:

#define EFFECT_CATEGORIES
