Re: Fresh Recording Playback problem
Congratulations. Glad it's working now. <<ive had this program running before with no problems, now after i formated my system its never worked the same.>> that was the first missing clue. <<my windows sound recorder wasnt working either>> and that one nails it. Good work Sherlock.

Re: Audacity wont play! Help!
Sorry, it was a struggle to get it working on my machine, and I can see this computer. Those general guidelines are the best I can come up with at the moment. Perhaps you can find help on the Ubuntu forum? What's this "little gray arrow loop region thingy up un the time stamp bar area"? Ca...

Re: Tone Generator
You could derive a silly workaround, like you need a microphone to generate stereo tone. Talk into the mic to generate a stereo track and then generate the tone and then delete the voice. What's wrong with this picture? Nothing. That's how you're required to do it. There's a MUCH easier way: 1) Tra...

Re: Click Removal torture test
I'm not able to download a huge file at the moment, but from your description this post may be useful: http://audacityteam.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=6527&p=25901#p25903 Also I have written a plug-in that will partly automate the process: http://audacity.easyspacepro.com/plugins/steve/re...

Re: Audacity wont play! Help!
Yep, Ubuntu has gone and changed the sound system again. It took me several hours to figure out how to get Audacity running properly, but now it is running sweeter than ever. You need to use the official Ubuntu repository version of Audacity (which has been patched to make it compatible with Ubuntu ...

Re: Anyway to disable AU support for audacity?
2. I'm not on about AU audio files as mentioned I'm on about AU plugins for mac osx, which I believe is supported by audacity? Yet there is no way I can find to switch this off for audacity that's what I'm asking Ah yes, that's a different question - not being a Mac user myself I thought you were a...

Re: Anyway to disable AU support for audacity?
1) Audacity does not "scan" folders. 2) Audacity saves its data with a ".AU" extension. These files are not the same as .AU sound files (though historically they may have been based on that format) 3) I think that the only file association that Audacity sets up is with .AUP files...

Re: Tone Generator
Does Audacity still generate mono tones for insertion into a blank stereo project? Might we get rid of that? I'm not quite sure what you mean koz. "Projects" are neither mono nor stereo. You can set the default recording format to stereo (in Preferences), but the project itself is neutral...

Re: Bug or my mistake?
Yes I can see the short sentences. I can follow what you are doing up to scr14.jpg where you select the beginning of the track "Try number" You then delete the selection which gives you picture scr15.jpg and you say "Now the error is here" - but that's where I get lost, I'm scrol...
