Re: Xported mp3 file will not skip forward or backard
I had already burned the audio book mp3 files to a CD That would not be a standard audio CD. Standard audio CDs always use uncompressed audio data at 16 bit 44.1kHz giving a maximum amount on a CD of around 72 minutes. Some CD players can play MP3 disks but most do not. If your CD player will play ...

Re: Opening project hangs Audacity 1.3.7
Ok, that seems to have worked Excellent :D It prompted me to deal with extra files (Delete, Continue without delete, Close immediately). I went with "Continue", Good, while is was possibly safe to go with "Delete", not deleting gives the opportunity of another bite at the apple,...

Re: Recording what is playing?!?!
You will have read this then: HELP ON RECORDING COMPUTER PLAYBACK OR STREAMING AUDIO There is often confusion over what source to use for recording sounds the computer is playing, and worse, this source is often hidden by default in the system mixer. Re: Xported mp3 file will not skip forward or backard
Going through the ten hours of recording and finding those 110 tones seems an overwhelming task. You could easily split the recording into regular sections of say 10 minutes duration using the "Regular Interval Labels" from the Analyze menu. Then use "Export Multiple" to create ...

Re: Recording what is playing?!?!
my only 2 input choices are microphone and microsoft sound mapper. Microsoft Sound Mapper is a virtual device that can be set to any of your real devices - in your case the option is "Microphone". If you are on Vista, see here: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Mixer_Toolbar_Is...

Re: Opening project hangs Audacity 1.3.7
First off, I'm assuming that it is not simply that you are short on disk space. I presume that these (very large) projects are a similar size to others ones that work OK. I don't know if this will work, but it's worth a try. 1) Make a copy of the folder "Delightfulee Morgan (Edits)_data" a...

Re: Separating a long MP3 file
Audacity does not "Save" audio files. It saves Audacity projects. When you open or import an MP3 into Audacity, Audacity will decode the file into uncompressed data. When you "Save" the project Audacity creates a small project files and a folder containing thousands of data fragm...

Re: Implementing a VAD in Audacity
That's the easy bit. You just select the track before processing and press Ctrl+D . That will create a duplicate track. Process the copy and not the original and you have before and after.mszlazak wrote:I'd like to display the before and after VAD waveforms.

Re: Opening project hangs Audacity 1.3.7
Is there anything noticeably different about these two projects from all of the others?
Size? Location? anything at all?
Could you upload just the AUP file (not the 800MB of data). (If you zip it you should be able to upload it as an attachment to your post)
