Re: Precision of the envelope tool

I want to see the zoomed in full range from -1 to 1 dB Try "Shift + Right Click". By the way, the scale from +1 to -1 is not a dB scale, it is a linear scale. The dB scale goes from 0dB (top of the track) to -infinity dB (silence - middle of the track) to 0 dB (bottom of the track). To vi...

Audacity 2.4.1, Win10
I'd recommend updating to 2.4.2 as it has 41 bug fixes after 2.4.1. https://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows/

Re: Precision of the envelope tool

As this is a manual tool, the precision of the change is low and it fully depends on the eye - hand coordination plus the smoothness of the mouse (if it's jumpy, this task is more difficult). Perhaps I'm missing something here. The precision is also dependent on "track size" and "zoo...

Re: Stereo to Mono Conversions

Terrific description. Yes that's a bug. I'll log it on the bug tracker. A workaround: 1) Create a new project. 2) Record some audio or import audio that is 44.1 kHz it can be a mono or stereo track. I mostly have mono tracks. 3) Import a stereo track that was recorded at 48.0 kHz 4) Select the 48.0 ...

our actors
You have actors?
Do you also have a sound technician and a mixing desk?

Re: [Bug] 2.4.2 NOT detecting my sound devices !

It looks like you have a super-complicated audio device set-up with those virtual devices. Unless any Voicemeeter experts happen to find this post I doubt that we will be able to help you.

Re: 32 bits Flac splitting

When recording at 16-bit, you need to be more careful than when recording at 24-bit. In the latter case you can safely allow a lot more headroom, but with 16-bit the headroom should be no more than 6 dB for optimal quality.

i'd love to figure out why it's happening though.
Perhaps you are changing the track sample rate somehow?

Re: ACX Check Shows Noise Floor Still Too High, RMS & Peak Passing

Check in the Windows Sound control panel and: 1. See if "Boost" is enabled 2. See what the recording level is. If Boost is enabled, try turning it off (or reducing it if it is a slider). If the recording level is higher than 100%, turn it down to 100% (I'm not on Windows and I don't rememb...
