The vocals that are recorded are almost lost in the music. The voice part of the music is very muffled and much fainter than in the original LP playback. The music seems to record at the right level but the voices simply faid back into the background. This may perhaps be a fault in your set-up. If ...

Is this a USB microphone?

USB microphones can not play back audio (obviously), but Windows is too stupid to know that and will set your USB microphone as the default audio out when it is connected. Go into the Windows Control Panel and set the default playback device to your sound card. Then restart Audacity and check in the...
