If After Effects can import and export WAV files, then you can use Audacity to edit them.
Audacity does not support video.

Re: Exporting Finished File to Windows Media Player
Use Audacity 1.3.7
Before you Export, set the "Project Rate (Hz)" to 44100 (see bottom left of the main Audacity Window).
Then Export your audio as "WAV (Microsoft) Signed 16 bit PCM"
Virtually everything will accept this format, even Windows Media Player.

Re: audicity seems to be locked up
You don't have your recording device working correctly or you have the wrong device selected for recording, or you have invalid settings for your recording device.
First place to check is in "Edit > Preferences > Audio I/O"

Re: Deleting cfg file doesn't work
Now if I can only figure out why this version is giving me so much trouble loading .aif files.... That's quite a different question, but since there's no one else in this topic to confuse... What files are these? Are they from iTunes? Do they have DRM protection? Can you convert them to WAV in iTun...

Re: Audacity stops recording
The Behringer does not directly support "Stereo Mix", but there is an easy cludge to get round the limitation: The UCA 202 has a headphone socket, so you use that to monitor the sound (either with headphones, or with computer speakers). You then take a standard "phono to phono" l...

Re: Extracting vocal from song
How to "clean it up" is a very vague question when we don't know what you are trying to clean up.
There is information in the Audacity wiki about reducing noise: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php? ... cing_noise

A bit late now, but there's been a similar problem reported here: http://audacityteam.org/forum/viewtopic ... 12&t=10647
It looks like Ableton Live can cause problems running Audacity on the Novation Xio
