Re: multiple exports on beta version

Two choices:

1) Just click on "OK" each time it pops up.
2) Go to "Edit menu > Preferences > Import / Export tab" and disable "Show Metadata Editor prior to export step".

Re: My file needs some serious work

The biggest issues are the the drums and bass far overpower the guitar and vocals You can reduce the amount of bass (low frequencies) and boost the mid range (middle frequencies) using the Equalizer (in the effects menu). and that there's an ungodly amount of static accompanying the drumline Nothin...

Re: System Reboots

As I explained in my original post, I can use (record in) 1.2.6 with no issues but for the sake of argument I did try sound recorder and I had no issues there either. From your initial post I could not tell if you used Audacity 1.2 on this machine 3 years ago, or yesterday. Without wanting to ask y...

Re: Exporting annoyances

When I did I got a popup asking me to edit the metadata info. Why wasn't this preserved? I don't use metadata myself (so I am certainly not an expert in this), but some things to consider: Audacity supports multiple tracks, and you can import multiple files into the same project, but once the files...

Re: create loop track with beat aligned

Choose your loop points carefully. Starting and ending just before the first beat of the bar is a good idea.

Re: When will 1.3.x be out of Beta version

I'm hoping that 1.3.8 beta is released soon (or whatever it will be called) - there are lots of bug fixes in 1.3.8 alpha and IMHO it is a more practical option for a reliable, stable audio editor than the current beta (not to say that 1.3.7 is bad, just that 1.3.8 alpha is better and would probably ...

Re: Export lacks "punch"

I suspect this is a combination of different playback levels and perception rather than anything to do with the wav file being different from the recorded audio. Try this experiment - depending on the outcome there may be a very easy fix. 1) Open Audacity and record a track. 2) In Preferences (Edit ...

Re: iMic volume/noise issues

Like I said, I tried many different combinations, but none of them worked. I also said before that I have no cable with an XLR on both ends. I have two with a 1/4" jack on end and a female XLR on the other. The thing that is confusing me is that on the Electro-Harmonix web page about the 12AY7...

Re: [solved] Badly behaved windows when using chains

Frustration can easily get the better of us ;) I just had a thought immediately after posting - perhaps PCLinuxOS does not have multiple desktops by default? (I'm getting so accustomed to having 4 desktops it really bugs me when I have to work on Windows PCs with only one). Anyway, glad you've got i...
