Re: BETA 1.3X DOWNLOAD ENGLISH OPTION NOT WORKING GETTING GE

The English and German versions are the same thing. You just need to reset the Audacity configuration file and it will come up in English. Audacity Preferences are stored in a configuration file called "audacity.cfg" in the Audacity settings folder. The configuration file can be edited wit...

Re: NEWBIE: Error messages

The instructions for installing Lame are here: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Lame_Installation#Windows_Instructions It is important that you follow the instructions to the letter. For a small minority of Audacity 1.2.6 users the problem remains even when following the instructions pre...

Re: Problem eliminating silence between 2 MP3 files

apparently, the bitrate can be changed before LAME is evoked In Audacity 1.3 you can select the bitrate by clicking on the "Options" button in the Export dialogue screen. Further to Koz's comments, MP3s always have a short gap at the beginning (limitation of the format). However this is u...

Re: playing back an aup file

Saving an Audacity project lets you save unfinished work and re-open it later in Audacity exactly as it was, with all edits and recorded/imported tracks preserved. This is a different process from using one of the Export commands in the File Menu. Export creates an audio file like WAV or MP3. Use Ex...

Re: having trouble recording from my mic

I can't help if I don't know your set-up, and it would be one heck of a coincidence if your set-up is identical to that which I have described.
The thing is that, if it is set up as I described, it will work, so there is obviously some important difference that you are not telling us.

Re: Have Lame DLL but won't install in Audacity

I've been using Audacity 1.2 for a long time and never had a problem converting to mp3 files until yesterday, So you are saying that you could Export MP3s from Audacity last week but not this week? What has changed between then and now? I've tried every possible download for LAME dll as per the sit...

Re: Ubuntu Jaunty problems with Pulseaudio

As I mentioned in my previous post, there is a nice introduction to Pulseaudio in Ubuntu here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=789578 A few extracts (for those too impatient to read the whole thing) PulseAudio is an advanced sound server which has been included in Ubuntu (i.e. the standard ...
