Another possibility is that the signal may be getting "limited" before it even gets to your computer.
Make sure that you don't have the gain set too high on the mixer.

Re: Level Volume on Cheap Speakers vs High-Quality Speakers
Is it possible to set Chris's compressor If I remember correctly, Chris's compressor takes into account the frequency content such that the processed signal is levelled out (approximately) by loudness (taking into account the varying sensitivity of "average" human hearing). If I'm right a...

Re: changing Speed
There are 29.9 frames a second thus 1 frame = 3.34 mila seconds. 33.4 milliseconds. If you have 2 identical audio tracks playing simultaneously and you then delay one of the tracks by as little as 10 milliseconds you will hear a very noticeable "phasing" effect. It becomes a noticeable &q...

Re: Edit while recording

I need to edit audio tracks in real time whitout stop the recording of main signal. Can't be done in Audacity, at least, not on one...

Re: Problem recording track 2: track 1 gets copied
It is often easy to record bass at too high a level and thus get distortion. Make sure that the recorded waveform does not reach the top or bottom of the track. It's good if it comes near to the maximum amplitude on the loudest notes, but if it actually reaches the top or bottom you need to reduce t...
