Re: Cannot open Project File
After doing my editing, do I save it normally, or do I need to "save as"? I like to use "Save As" as a regular course of action. I then end up with a series of Audacity projects which take up an enormouse amount of disk space, but provide me with multiple "restore points&qu...

Re: audio from mobile phone
You may be able to clean up the recording a little using Audacity (don't expect miracles), but first you will need to convert the file into a supported format such as WAV. SUPER by erightsoft can convert most audio formats. Once you have it as a WAV file you can try the Noise Removal tool in Audacit...

Re: Using CUE files in Audacity - Is it possible?
If you are wanting to do just this one project then you probably don't need Audacity at all (though don't let me put you off all the fun that can be had with this great little program). The Cue file is for using with a CD burning application. I think that the excellent and free CDburnerXP supports c...

Re: New to digital -- and I miss my tape system.
Here's the bit that would save so many tears: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=File_Management_Tips You should definitely use Audacity 1.3 rather than the old 1.2 version. As Koz says, with digital there is a more flexible method of dropping in that does not require "punch in/punch ...

Re: vista 64 bit
Many people successfully use Audacity with Vista 64, however, thanks to the horrible things that Microsoft have done to the sound system there are certain issues with any version of Vista. Most of it is covered here: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php? ... s_Vista_OS

Have a look at the "Tips" and the "Tutorials" section of the Audacity wiki (links at top of page).DJ Farealdoe wrote:I learn quick and I need some useful tips,

I don't think there has ever been a Wizard, but there are some simple tutorials for Audacity 1.2 here: http://audacityteam.org/manual-1.2/tutorials.html

Re: How to REMOVE Music but KEEP vocals?
I wouldn't expect any of them to work fantastically well. It's like trying to unscramble an egg. Like for example, some people make remixes of songs but use different background music. They have the vocals part but not the music part. Yes, but they have the original multi-track version to work with,...

Not quite the same, As you say the effect is subtly different. I think it depends on exactly what effect you want.kozikowski wrote: Or back off from the microphone which has the same affect,
Good suggestions though.
