Re: Automatic track separation

Which doesn't work on expressive classical music or noisy records. Expressive classical music has silences built in and noisy records never shut up. You should look after your records better ;) It works fine on my Classical music collection, though I do occasionally get tracks split in very quiet p...

Re: Amplify / Normalize problem...Help

Unless you have made changes to the Audacity Preferences (Edit menu > Preferences) the default location for the data when you record into a new project is on the C: drive. You can see the exact location if you look on the "Directories" tab of Preferences. Once a project has been saved, the...

Re: LAME file

The exe file is a self extracting archive. Double click on it to run it and it will create a directory in your Program Files folder called "Lame for Audacity" and place the contents (Lame encoder) inside.

Re: Cannot mute while recording

Plugging in a pair of headphones will usually mute the internal speaker. In most cases you don't even need the headphones, you just need the mini-jack plug.

Re: General question on 1.3.7

Hang on a bit - Audacity 1.3.8 is due out very soon and has several important bug fixes as well as the new features of 1.3.7. (I've been using 1.3.8 alpha for a while now and it's the best Audacity yet). Too many new features to list here. Changes and new features are listed in the Readme.txt file i...
