Are you getting the problem with the Normalized WAV files? If so, then the problem is somewhere in the playback system.
The Exported WAV files, other than the obvious amplitude scaling, are virtually identical to the original WAV files.
Tell us about your playback system.

Re: Multichannel output
how difficult will this be to implement? Pretty tricky I would guess. Audacity uses portaudio to communicate with the the sound system, and I don't think that portaudio supports multi-channel output. With Audacity 1.3 you can Export multi-channel files, so it may be easier to Edit in Audacity, but ...

Re: Is it possible to change pitch without affecting tempo?
Change pitch and Change tempo work by chopping the sound into little blocks, then sticking them back together again, but adjusted to create the desired effect. The accuracy of the final length is limited by the size of the blocks that are used. When processing longish sections, the result is usually...

Re: Repair tips needed
If you need to remove a lot of big clicks (too big for the Audacity Click removal feature), hang onto the recording until Audacity 1.3.8 is released. I have written a plug-in to remove big clicks and in preliminary tests it works pretty well. I will release it when Audacity 1.3.8 is released (Nyquis...

Re: audacity "bogs down"
Yes it can have a massively detrimental effect. From time to time you should do a bit of computer "housekeeping" and clear the crap off.djeddieo.com wrote:but I was thinking that all that crap that's always running on its own might have had something to do with this.

Re: iMic volume/noise issues
Poor quality leads can cause hum. Also a poor contact somewhere, and being located close to appliances that are electrically noisy. Close proximity to electric motors can cause problems. My parents had a fridge that caused clicks and hums, so my father would switch it off while he was recording and ...

Re: MP3 file size
But if the original is Mono, then why did it play in both speakers? in a stereo file you have 2 audio "channels". One channel is set to play through only the Left output (left speaker/headphone) and the other set to play only through the right. (It can sometimes be a little more complex t...

Re: Recording time vs HD space
As I study more about audio files and editing I find it very fascinating, and will be a great addition to my work in RF communications. I look forward to reading more on this forum. Even if Audacity is not the best tool for the job in hand (which is probably the case), download it anyway (the 1.3.7...

Re: Recording time vs HD space
Can audacity record a min. of 100 hrs continuous I believe the record so far is 3 months continuous, but the person that achieved that had quite a job doing so and in the end wrote his own program that could write a sequence of smaller audio files direct to disk in real time. There is a limit to th...
