Re: Recording lag on replay

The first thing to check is that you do not have "software playthrough" enabled in Preferences. Have you made many adjustments to the Preferences? If so then we may be best to reset them to the default values and take it from there. To reset the preferences: Audacity Preferences are stored...

Re: Create stutter effect popular in hip hop

I can't really tell from that recording - perhaps you can explain it in words.
It sounds like either the sound is being switched on and off rapidly (a chopper effect), or the sound has been cut into pieces with silence inserted between each piece.
Do either of those descriptions sound right?

I don't think that you can do that.

Ooh that's nice - it's free :D

Re: Splitting A Long Track

I wasn`t sure whether to download 1.3 as it is in Beta. Yes it's in beta, but it is now very close to being released as the new Audacity 2.0 stable version. Most if not all of the forum regulars use Audacity 1.3 I believe you can have both programs installed at the same time. Yes you can. The only ...

I believe it will work on any platform, but needs to be built from the source code. Sorry, I don't know how to do that on Windows, I don't think that Microsoft like people doing that sort of thing. If you fancy trying out Linux I can help.

Re: Audacity won't play my recording

Try upgrading to Audacity 1.3.7

This may fix it, but if you still have the same problem, open "Help > Audio device Info" and copy and paste the information into your reply.

Re: Repair tips needed

Is this your updated Clipfix (the big clicks being ones that reverse the polarity) or something else? No this is something else. I had a recording with a whole bunch of nasty clicks that would have taken forever to fix manually, but the clicks were too severe for Audacity's Click removal so I made ...
