Re: Most Effective Way To Delete A Segment Of Song
Is there a way of just selecting this segment, drag it down across all the tracks, and simply delete it so everything else remains in time? In Audacity 1.3 - yes. Click on the top track then drag across and down. For other ways of selecting multiple tracks see this post: http://forum.audacityteam.o...

Re: Weird spectrogram in Audacity 1.3.7 on Jaunty AMD64
Yes, that's weird. I don't know anyone with Ubuntu 64, so help here is going to be limited. To install wxWidgets, go to their website and install the latest stable version - see here: http://wiki.wxpython.org/InstallingOnUbuntuOrDebian If you are building from source, either use the CVS version, or ...

Re: Download for cnm minibook
Probably. Audacity can run on an EEEPC.
Obviously performance is lower than on a more powerful computer, but on an EEEPC I am told that you can do basic recording and editing.
I've not heard of Linux V70 os.

No, there is also "Gnome Wave Cleaner" which is free, open source, and possibly the best application available for cleaning vinyl and cassette recordings. It runs on Linux.coonsanders wrote:.audacity is the only free one huh

Re: Autotune?
Antares Autotune does not work well, if at all, in Audacity. If you know how to build an application from source code, there is a pitch correction plug-in called "Auto Talent" that works well with Audacity. http://web.mit.edu/tbaran/www/autotalent.html If we pester the developers enough, t...

Re: Can't record from Seal USB Turntable
The AK5371 is the A/D USB converter chip. It was originally designed for providing a USB interface for stereo microphones, but is commonly used in turntables. The USB device must be connected before you open Audacity. The Recording device must be set for the turntable (AK5371) The playback device mu...

Re: Missing Time Window
There is a posting up the forum where somebody wants to select exactly the same edit points in, for example, 16 tracks. The quickest way to do that is: Ctrl+A to select All then type the start and end positions into the selection boxes. If you wanted to select the same part on all tracks Except for...

Re: Greyed-out menu items
Audacity is a really simple program and it likes running on really simple computers. "Spaces" aka virtual desktops need not apply. Working on Linux, Audacity works fine with Compiz (the fancy 3D Linux desktop), and I've run it successfully in Virtual Box (various guest OSs including Windo...

Re: Pitch Change2
I couldn't get it to goto 33.3333 it would only goto 33.896. Click on the number, delete it and type in 33.3333333 (I'm not sure how many decimal places it will take notice of, but it's quite a few). Typing in the numbers is much more accurate than using the slider. The speed change can be a bit co...
