Upgrade to Audacity 1.3.8
BTW, Audacity is a multi-track editor - there is rarely any need to copy from one track to another - just use multiple tracks. Tracks will be mixed together when you Export your finished audio file.

Re: Best CD Burner?
For 320 KBPS Mp3 don't bother with EAC - use C-Dex instead. It's just as good for MP3s and much faster. Most recording programs / hardware can produce WAV files directly, but making FLAC files requires an extra step of encoding as FLAC. The audio quality of FLAC and WAV are identical, but FLAC files...

Re: Alphabetic Listings
Can someone take a minute and arrange this page in straight vertical alphabetic columns instead of zig-zag left to right? Unfortunately not. That page is auto generated by the wiki software and is not editable. There may be a mod available (I've not checked), but if there is then it would need to b...

Re: Very Newbie question - Silence Finder....
Anyone have experience of getting this to work? Yes - I've used this very successfully quite a lot. However, the clue is in the name " Silence " Finder. It can only detect silence if there is silence to detect. If you have set it to detect "silence" below -40dB and minimum durat...

Re: HELP! Recording Cassette Tapes
Today is my first day using the forum, so I still don't know what I'm doing! No problem ;) You will find a lot of help and documentation in the Audacity wiki - Audacity is one of the best documented open source applications around - but sometimes you need to hunt around a bit to find the bits that ...

Re: recording from a CD Audio track
http://audacityteam.org/download/features-1.3-a talks about the new features and about 1/2 down it talks about the new features of audio recording. Under the File Menu if you go to Perferences it talks about downing a file. I see no mention of importing files directly into Audacity from CD. Use C-d...
