Re: problem opening stored project

I then saved the projects (two microphones, separate project each) to the hard drive, in the Audacity file format, which is compressed (if you work for Audacity you should know that). Nobody "works" (in the sense of paid employment) for Audacity. The developers, testers, documentation aut...

Re: Record stops after 0.6 seconds. [Solved]

Probably not a good place to post your question BobbyYoupla since the topic says "Solved", but anyway, I spotted your new post by chance. The problem is almost certainly to do with the device set-up and Pulse Audio. The sound system was changed in Ubuntu with 9.04 (Jaunty) to take full &qu...

Re: Weird spectrogram in Audacity 1.3.7 on Jaunty AMD64

I has a same problem on Gentoo Linux / ~amd64. Tested with Audacity 1.3.7 and 1.3.8. Here is a video demonstrating the problem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nrXlkc5cQ_0 Wow that's great :D It really shows off this bizarre issue. I've no idea what is causing this, but I'll ask if one of the develo...

Re: Best CD Burner?

I don't need a fast ripper. I want a high quality, accurate one lol. If you want accuracy, don't use mp3 format - it is a lossy format, which means that some of the data is thrown away during the encoding process and can never be recovered. The advantage of EAC is that copies are bit perfect (assum...

Re: Recording issues

when I finish recording, I notice a pair of white arrows appear, pointing to the left, at the start of the waveform above and below the centre. What do these arrows signify? They signify that the track has been adjusted a small way to the left to compensate for latency. This is only a small shift (...

Re: Windows 7 & recording directly what's being played onscr

Windows 7 is not officially supported, and I don't have it, but I'm guessing it is similar to Vista. Recording "Stereo Mix" may or may not be available with the Windows 7 sound card drivers. Check in the Windows Control Panel to see if "Stereo Mix" is an option (see here http://w...

Not sure what you mean by "fluctuations" - do you mean the volume goes up and down? If so, try Chris's Dynamic Compressor. http://pdf23ds.net/software/dynamic-compressor/

Re: DirectX Wrapper error on 1.3.8

Audacity only has partial VST support. Some VST's are not compatible with Audacity.
Do you use VST effects with Audacity? with other programs?

The problem could also be that the DirectX Wrapper is looking for a DirectX plug-in that is not available (deleted or moved).
