Re: FFmpeg library not found

Audacity 1.3.8 requires a more recent version of ffmpeg than 1.3.7 used. You can get the required version from here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.ph ... tallffmpeg

Re: FFmpeg plugin fails

I had a similar problem on Suse 11.1 with Audacity 1.3.8. The standard libavformat did not work. I found that a simple configure of the svn source did not work immediately either since the compile did not generate the libavformat.so. However ./configure --enable-shared generated the required libavf...

Re: Win7x64

Hi, I am having the same problem. Exactly the same problem? Perhaps one of you could post the full error message. By the way, Windows 7 is still beta software and is not officially supported by Audacity. Historically, Microsoft operating systems have tended to be full of bugs until around Service P...

Re: problem opening stored project

You're welcome. Good luck with data recovery, you will probably need it, but there IS a chance there.

Re: iMic volume/noise issues

This all started with the microphone - a very nice, but expensive ribbon mic. People that use them would often rather sell their children that part with their ribbon mic, but they have a couple of drawbacks. They are usually rather delicate, and they produce a very low level signal. The first of the...

Re: problem opening stored project

In terms of unnecessarily lost work and general aggravation, I certainly got far less than I paid for here. Audacity is free. If you don't like it, don't use it. 2. So about the project folders that Audacity stored as data folders alongside the .aup project files, each at 5+ megs containing 440 ind...

Re: Is there a plug to set recording levels in pre-scan phas

I'd like to think that this task could so easily be automated. Yes it would be nice, but I doubt if it is possible. If, like me, you come from a background of analogue recording, there are some important differences that need to be remembered: With analogue, you can get away with the odd peak being...

Re: Generate Silence in 1.3.7 versus 1.2.6

Many of the Generate effects do not have their own default values for duration, and so fall back onto the system default that is written into the Audacity code. Considering that some users work on projects that involve many hours (or even days) of audio, while others work on projects that last just ...

Re: iMic volume/noise issues

This was your last post regarding your set-up: ------------ START ---------------------- The thing that is confusing me is that on the Electro-Harmonix web page about the 12AY7 mic Pre-amp, there is no mention of a 1/4" input. It says there is a 1/4" output, and XLR output and an XLR input...

Re: Doomed to Search Forever!

Hi koz. And it doesn't seem to matter where I click or how I manage the interface. I'm still in Search. When you click on the title of one of the posts that Search has retrieved, it should take you to that post (it works here), however an additional item is added to the address which is the search t...
