Do you mean "burn" as in "burn to a CD"?
For making audio CDs you must use 16 bit. Audio CDs only use 16 bit audio at 44.1 kHz.

I would suggest upgrading to Audacity 1.3.8 - there's been a lot of work done recently on supporting more hardware, and on the mixer side particularly. If you already have a lot of VST effects installed on your computer it may be better to go for Audacity 1.3.7 as there have been some compatibility ...
