Re: Change tempo on multiple tracks that are different lengt
Something I've just noticed in Audacity 1.3.8. If there are any spaces on a track (empty spaces between audio clips, I don't mean "flat-line silence") then the spaces are not adjusted by "Change Speed" or "Change Tempo". If you have a track that is continuous from time=...

Re: Weird spectrogram in Audacity 1.3.7 on Jaunty AMD64
Gale Andrews has pointed out that this issue has been seen before (as long ago as Audacity 1.3.4) The advice then was to update all graphics libraries to the latest version (the Cairo libraries that were being used were old). That appeared to resolve the issue. http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopi...

Re: Determining the DB level on record and playback ?
dB's are not an absolute measurement, it is a ratio compared to a standardised level. In the case of Audacity, 0dB is "full scale" (+1.0 to -1.0 on the vertical scale of the track). All signals recorded in Audacity are with reference to 0dB, and are therefore negative. Silence is "min...

Re: crashed during recording
Rescuing projects after a crash on Audacity 1.2 will often fail, but if you want to give it a go, see here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php? ... shRecovery

Re: problem saving MP3 files to a CD
In the bottom left corner of the main Audacity window is the "Project Rate" box - set that to 44100 (if it's not on that already). Edit menu > Preferences > File Formats tab - set the Uncompressed Export Format to "WAV Microsoft 16 bit PCM" (if it's not on that already). Go to th...

So you recorded the record to your computer? How did you do that? What equipment did you use?
What do you listen to the original vinyl with?
What are you listening to the computer recording with?
Any other information that may provide a picture of what you are doing?

Re: Change tempo on multiple tracks that are different lengt
.changed the name to "nexttoyoupleasework" THAT is what will have fixed it :D When I started this post It was a 1.2.6 issue and it has kind of evolved. Yes they do that sometimes. It sounds like you are OK for the time being. Keep an eye on this for now and if you get more issues with it ...

Re: Saving preferences
Those settings should be saved automatically as long as Audacity shuts down correctly. Try closing Audacity from the File menu and see if the changes are retained. Oh, hang on a second - this is the 1.2 forum. I'm not sure what settings Audacity 1.2 is able to save. You may need to upgrade to Audaci...

Re: endless playing
Many CD players and MP3 players have a "repeat" function. There is no kind of standard about this, so it depends on what functions your player has.
