Re: Skips the marked section

Do you use custom keyboard shortcuts? If not, try setting your shortcuts back to defaults (see: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/key ... ences.html)

The behaviour that you are describing sounds like "Play Cut Preview" which has the default keyboard shortcut "C".

Re: Error: failed to disconnect from DDE server gracefully...

Audacity doesn't use DDE connections. Perhaps it's something to do with the Mackie software? Is there a correct way to shut down and disconnect the Mackie? If so, then perhaps try shutting down and disconnecting the Mackie before shutting down Audacity. One of the problems you will have resolving th...

I tried to tell Audacity where it was using the Preferences/Libraries screen,
You can't be using Audacity 2.4.2 because the "Locate" button for LAME is greyed out in Audacity 2.4.2 (because LAME is built in and enabled by default).

Re: The accuracy of Frequency Analysis amplitude

everytime I change the size Are you referring to the "Size" parameter, or the physical dimensions of the effect window? Assuming that you mean the "Size" parameter, it is normal and correct that most of the dB values will be lower with higher "Size" settings. How it wo...

Re: ASIO latency FUBAR

The best solution is "direct monitoring" (zero latency monitoring), but that depends on it being supported by the hardware.

Ah, that's good to know. Thanks.
Now that you mention it, I think someone else had also reported that, but I forgot (I rarely use Mac).

I attached 2 sample files, the first one is the one Audacity processed with DRC Enabled, the second one with DRC Disabled. Hear for yourself.
Interesting. Have you tried measuring the crest factor of those samples?

Re: Spectral delete not working how I want it to

Why is this happening As far as I can tell from the screenshots, it's because you are making such short selections. If there's a sudden change in the frequencies present, it creates a discontinuity (a "kink") in the waveform. To avoid this, the spectral effects have a short fade-in / fade...

Re: [Shortcut] Focused Track - Select All

any place I can see the main Audacity roster? The "credits" are here: https://www.audacityteam.org/about/credits/ I'm a member of the "team", but certainly not a lead developer. I'm the administrator for this forum, and other than that I do bits of all sorts - support, documenta...

Re: The accuracy of Frequency Analysis amplitude

Are you referring to "Plot Spectrum"? https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/plot_spectrum.html If so, then a continuous sine tone with an amplitude the full height of a track will display as (about) 0 dB. The display graph is an average for the selected audio, so the amplitudes at each frequ...
