Re: Problems with VST plugins
Audacity does not support VSTi's. Support for VST effects is currently being developed, but instruments are not.

Re: Vocals Sound "Weak"
To thicken up the vocals you could add a bit of delay (duplicate the vocal track, drop the level a bit and shove it to the right by about 40 milliseconds). You could also add a bit of reverb - If you add reverb to the delayed track and not the original, you will still get the reverb effect but will ...

Re: recording_volume
steve: looking forward to that agc notwithstanding koz'es pessimism... ;) Koz isn't the only one to not like AGC. My personal view of AGC is that it is an abomination, it is the curse of the dark side of technology, a malign invention to taunt sound technicians and torture music lovers. (I could go...

I've not seen or heard of this problem before, but the first thing that I would try is updating to Audacity 1.3.8

Re: New to Audacity - will only record first 5 seconds of so

Re: 1.3.8 on Vista home premium
I liked the hierarchical effects structure that was in 1.3.6, which I unfortunately uninstalled and deleted, and it looked like this might be back in 1.3.8. The developers were toying with making this a settable interface option in Preferences (following compllaints from several users when the hier...

Re: aup format
Failing to do this burns lots of newbie (and not so newbie) users of Audacity when they import a clip and then move or delete the original source (often by removing a CD) - this then leaves a big hole in your project. Recent 1.3.x versions will warn you about this when you Save the project. I don't...
