Yes, but it would be better if they were not there.george13 wrote:I've seen these green lines, too. under Mac OSX 10.4.11. I think they are harmless though.

Re: Audacity 1.3.7 not using my lame_enc.dll
I've just download the Windows Zip version and the Windows .exe version from here: http://lame.buanzo.com.ar/Brett_R wrote:Additionally, when I go out to the LAME encoder download site I get a 403-Forbidden error
If you have trouble downloading them, read the BIG TEXT at the top of the download page.

Re: Question about Normalization (how does it work in Audaci
New version give options for equal L/R processing (linked channels) or independent L/R processing (split channels). Quite a few other minor changes, mostly under the hood, but you will notice some change in the GUI. Don't some of the Audacity tools have the "-" built in? I'm perfectly happ...

vertical lines on waveform display
Audacity 1.3.8 on Ubuntu 9.04
Adjusting the track pan or volume sliders while playing causes vertical lines to appear on other tracks as can be seen in the picture below. This did not happen with Audacity 1.3.7
The lines disappear and the display correct again when play is stopped.

Solo and Mute not working on stereo track at top of window
Audacity 1.3.8 on Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty. I have Audacity open with two stereo tracks as shown here: trackpanel001.png Because of the small screen size on this computer, I can only see the full stereo track for the upper track. If I scroll down so that I can see the lower stereo track, part of the upper...

Re: New to Audacity - will only record first 5 seconds of so
Assuming that your cassette player is working correctly (have you checked that possibility?) I think the issue must be with the sound card as Audacity does not contain anything that can do this even if you want it to. My instinct is that it is some kind of effect setting in the sound card control pa...

Re: 1.3X always crashes
in my opinion all binary plug-ins should be disabled by default. This is currently being discussed on the Audacity developers mailing list. Another option that is being considered is to allow the user to enable/disable effects when they install Audacity. While they want to make effects available, t...

Re: Record stops after a random time
As opposed to the post about recording that stops after .6", on my machine (Squeeze) the record stops together with the view meters and the audio position vertical cursor. It will record for a random time ranging from < 1" to forever. Mean is < 10" The only time I've noticed this is ...

Re: just getting started
is there any other downloads that i need? For recording in WAV, flac, Ogg or Aiff formats you need nothing else. To be able to Export in MP3 format you need to install Lame. To support additional formats you can install FFMpeg. If you want to install the Lame Encoder, see here http://audacityteam.o...
