Total Recorder 5.2 and later should also work. Again it's not free.

It sounds like you have a corrupted configuration file. Go to Documents and Settings<user name>Application DataAudacity and there is a hidden file called "audacity.cfg" If you delete or rename that file it will reset the Audacity Preferences and Audacity should then open up like day one. Y...

On the Audacity "Open" browser, you can select what kind of files you want to see. The default is "All supported files".

That is "Resume Record". It continues recording from the end of the current track. It does not enable you to over-record existing audio.jademan wrote:Also try either Shift-R or Shift-Record

Should I do this stereo to mono as the first step in processing, the last step, or does it matter? Unless you are applying any stereo effects, which you are probably not, then I don't think that it matters. At least not as far as sound quality is concerned. recording-meter.png I would not be shocked to learn that Mac has provisions to never actually hit "all ones" clipping under any condition. That's what we're hoping you can tell us. If you wear your programming hat for a minute, what do the overload lights mean? What are the data condition...

Try saving the project under a new name. Keep the original project (both the file and the data folder) as a back up and try opening the copy.
